Bush trimming · Yakima
Bush and hedge trimming in Yakima, cut flat and square.
Overgrown hedges and long arborvitae rows cut back flat and square, from the ladder, then cleaned up.
Chapter 01
What an overgrown hedge is doing to the house
A hedge that is left a few seasons grows out at the top and thins at the bottom. The face goes lumpy, branches lean over the walk, and the growth that touches siding or windows holds moisture against them. Arborvitae shows this badly, because the dead inner foliage is hidden until the outside is cut.
Yakima's hot, dry summers make it worse. A stressed hedge browns from the inside, and cutting it hard in the wrong week can leave it burnt on the south side.

How the crew cuts a row
They set the line first. A tight top and a face that tapers slightly wider at the bottom keeps light reaching the lower branches, so the hedge stays full instead of bare at the foot. Hand shears and trimmers do the shaping, and long rows get cut from a ladder so the top is level and not guessed from the ground.
They stay in the green. Cutting into old bare wood on an arborvitae will not grow back, so the trim follows the live foliage and holds the shape you already have, only crisper. Then the clippings are cleared so the lawn and walk are left clean.
Chapter 03
Keeping it that way, and when to call
A hedge kept on a yearly trim never needs a rescue cut. If branches already touch the house, the row is taller than you can reach, or you cannot see over it from the drive, call (509) 985-4603 before it gets worse.
Mention any shrubs you want shaped rather than flattened. Sculpted shrubs and boxwood mounds are a different kind of cut from a hedge row.

Their own work
A hedge trimmed flat.
Same hedge, same spot. The first frame is a shaggy, rounded mass that has grown past its line, and the second is the same plants cut to a flat top and clean face, with the crew member still in the shot.
